Meet Laura
I am an active and pragmatic psychotherapist dedicated to the treatment of adults, couples and families with a solution oriented therapy model. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I have a Master's and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. I have over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy in private practice, non-profit organizations, and medical settings.
The interventions and techniques I apply are selected to meet your specific needs and they stem from the major clinically researched theoretical approaches in the field of Psychology.
I additionally have specialized training and extensive experience in EMDR, a comprehensive therapy method widely researched and recognized as a first line effective treatment to overcome trauma and associated conditions such as general anxiety, depression, grief, headaches and pain.
During the first session we will talk about your specific needs and we will set up clear treatment goals in a collaborative way. You will find a safe, non judgmental, empathic and supportive environment throughout your treatment process. We will work on an emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and relational level to process dysfunctional emotions, change negative beliefs and behaviors and learn stress management and coping skills.
English and Spanish:
I am originally from Argentina and I am fluent in both English and Spanish, giving patients the opportunity to address personal matters in the language they feel more comfortable with.
